GEORGIA SATELLITES

The Georgia Satellites sono un gruppo musicale rock statunitense attivo dalla metà degli anni ottanta guidato per buona parte della loro carriera da Dan Baird.

Vennero alla ribalta nel 1986 con il singolo Keep Your Hands to Yourself tratto dal loro primo album, omonimo. Il loro stile, fortemente legato al rock classico, si ispira a Chuck Berry, Little Feat, The Rolling Stones e AC/DC. Nel 1980, Dan Baird (ex chitarrista della band di Atlanta i Bucks Nasty), insieme con chitarrista Rick Richards , bassista Keith Christopher e il batterista David Michaelson formò una band di nome Keith ei satelliti di Atlanta, Georgia. Dopo aver eseguito nei bar locali meridionali, line-up della band è cambiato. Dan Baird diventato cantante e chitarrista e Rick Richards diventa cantante e chitarrista. Con un nuovo bassista, Dave Hewitt e un nuovo batterista, Randy Delay; hanno registrato un demo di sei tracce in Axis Studios di Atlanta. Durante questo periodo, la band cambiò il nome in Georgia Satellites e ha giocato ogni Lunedi a Hedgen di un bar birra macchiato nel altrimenti tony zona di Atlanta Buckhead .
